Welcome

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Center for Vital Longevity, at The University of Texas at Dallas. My research asks how the brain generates and regulates emotion, and how these processes are shaped by the brain’s ability to meet its energy demands. To address these questions, my lab combines fMRI, EEG, computational neuroimaging, machine learning, and biomarkers of bioenergetic health to study emotion regulation, resilience, aging, and mental health. I hope to build a collaborative and supportive lab environment for students and researchers who are excited about using quantitative neuroscience to answer meaningful questions about emotion, brain–body interactions, and human well-being.

Our research spans several connected directions:

  • Brain networks underlying emotion regulation
  • Bioenergetic health, emotion regulation, and mental health
  • Computational neuroimaging of naturalistic emotion regulation
  • Brain–body interventions for emotional well-being
  • Human and AI models of emotion regulation
